For Leif

I have been so excited to post these pictures...there is such a great meaning behind making a ring for a specific person....

THis ring I made for a friend, Heidi, so she could gift it to her husband of 10ish years. It is stamped with some original designs of my own. I love these two, they spend a lot of time apart seasonally with the job Leif has as a fire lookout, and it is so cool and inspiring to create this piece for them. These two have such a great appreciation for craft, as Heidi is a ceramics artist and creates a life enriched in all things handmade. Her home is such a nest of creativity...One day I want a studio out in the woods, just like hers. And I feel so honored to be a part of this!

The ring: a symbol of life continuing, of rebirth, of the cycle of the moon, the earth, and of life; a balancing act of feminine and masculine, the symbol of commitment

i stole this from a friend of a friend. I love it. I wish i could wake up to someone telling me this every morning.

Also have been busy playing with these silk strands. They are gorgeous, hand-dyed, and vibrant. I like the fishermans hook the most. I thought it was interesting the last line of that great little ditty is "wear your passion"....how perfect.

A big ol' shout out to Fawn Boutique in Kalispell today, Lynde the shop owner picked out a few things for the fall in her store! Yay!

cute stack 'em rings hammered in sterling silver....

"into the blue" ring.....

"be the change" ring.....
and the signature rag and stone silk bracelets with love (she grabbed a few of these, I know they will sell in her store!)

I have to say, Lynde has been a great lady to me....she has watched me bumble through what you call a "Cold call"....and has been so nice and a great resource for info and prices and other sneaky retail tips ; ) To me, there is nothing scarier than walking into a boutique, not knowing anyone behind the counter, and pitch yourself and all of your hard work and treasures to a total stranger...this to me is almost nightmarish....i am not good at what a fellow artist friend of mine calls " beating the chest". I love creating, but selling myself is not my strong point! i am not a good chest-beater! so thank you Lynde. You made my day.

beautiful desk jesse made for me, butcher-block with little copper studs, just for looks...
and a built-into-it steel plate for a-hammerin'
it's so exciting.....
I am so excited to post pictures of this workbench, a custom gift that has finally made it into my living room, since I am poor and our one bedroom apartment is all we got for now, but someday folks, this bench is going to be in a garden cottage with a wall that opens all the way to let the breeze and the sun in.

Thank you Jesse. You are awesome. I love it.

I love this picture...these are some sterling rings I made custom for a friend...her idea was to take them to a festival and "gift" them...take them off her hands, or necklace, or wherever they were, and hand them out to significant people she met along her little journey. I just love this concept. Gifting little personal treasures....Its a lot of the reason I love making jewelry...
