Today's thought:

Quit comparing yourself.
Your originality and creativity do not come from facebook, twitter, pinterest or otherwise.
YOU are the best and most sincere form of art.
To marinate on what you believe, what you create, where you want to go....
This is sincerity.

And marinating takes time.

So turn off your computer,
turn down your thoughts,
 go to that studio,
and make.

period.

Tres Mas.

Two More *Mucho Gusto* hoops,
in turquoise stone,
and czech glass, a peachy pop of color.

and some NEW hoops,
of the same vein,
a little dome,
a little green.
A lotta fun.

....

A new design I decided to call

*la Luz*
spanish for *the light*
light played in the spaces between stone and silver.

...

all in the shop today.

Kehoe's Agate Shop

Yesterday,
Geeking out in a rock shop in Bigfork, MT.

It amazes me still, to this day,
how infatuated humans are with rocks.
(myself included).
The shop was hopping with customers,
scrambling to take a peek at crazy remnants of the earth's past.

 People from six to sixty...
all clamoring for an explanation,
and wonder.
All collectors of shiny things,
old artifacts,
crystalline structures,
or simple birthstones,
Rare crystals and magnetic agate tree-rings.
The magic of nature.
The old-ness of the earth.

 A communion of sorts,
paying homage to the bedrock of existence.
or, at least the shiny pretty rocks.

A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it,
bearing within him the image of a cathedral.

Mucho Gusto

Hoops for today....
"El Gusto es Mio"
meaning...
"the pleasure is mine".

Good day in the studio.
Tinkering and playing,
finishing loose ends,
and jamming to new tunes.
Hope your thursday is lovely, too.

When in doubt,
 red beans.

In a pinch,
they'll hold your jewels at farmer's market,
feed a family of 5,
and cost less than $3.

Finally....new work!

cute little aventurine
size 7.75
horizontal and sassy

Malachite Pendant on rope chain,
with a sweet little vine pierced on the back.
hangs at 18"

Tibetan Turquoise
(of course)
Ring size 9.25
Double Hammered band,
beefy and tough.

The COOLEST little piece of Willow Creek Jasper
(cut by my main rock man, Merlin)
a stunner of a rock, almost a painting.

I couldn't bare to cover the back of this stunner,
so cut a little peephole out of the back.

Hangs on a rectangle 18" chain.

...

these puppies will be in the shop today!

...

In the glory of the summers in Montana,
and the blurs of summer shows,
(count 'em, SIX!)
the countless hours of prep...
and the 16 hour studio days...
the rest of today is for resting.
for being happy.

I am headed to the garden.
With Tea.
in my new straw hat.

happy girl, indeed.
