My favorite time of year,

the garden is going nuts!

And we believe Winny, the silver wyandotte,

is the first to lay....

That's the first egg!

what might be..."

The moon and me...

simple is all I want.

In all the chaos of days going too fast,
seasons rolling by,
Time seems like a blur.

The only constant is the chatter of the day,
and the peaceful quiet of the night.

The moon and I keep eachother company,
Every exhale is an understanding...
a peace pact made.

We nod to eachother in agreement...
Knowing that the only constant is change.

even in the moon's waxing and waining.
It's still there,
up there,
in the dark.

Cyclical. Changing. Yet always the same.

There's some comfort in that, really.
That something you do not always see is still there.

This is a series of jewelry I've been working on....
light. easy. simple. clean.

Darkness for our New moon.

Lightness for our Full moon.

And the constant pattern of simplicity it provides.

Spring Bud Rings....

in the shop today.

Springtime had me in angst.
I wanted green.
pretty bad.
Montana's winters are slow to thaw.

And the summer is so sweet,

and so short.

I can't believe it's August already.
It seems like my summer is just wisking itself closer and closer to Carhartts and wool sweaters.
As I say that, I realize it's going to be 90 degrees today, and the thought of wool
is just crazy.
The lakes are perfect for swimming, Huckleberries are in season, and I haven't worn socks in months.

But man, it's the truth.
Montana sneaks up on you.
And then it's October, and we are all in puffy-coats.

So here's my short Ode to summer.

to roadtrips....

summer shows...

big tractors, big projects, and good friends...

To family.  and swimming.  and bonfires.

Let's make August a good one.

Cuz' its short.

and hot.

and awesome.

Photo Shoot!

Taken via hipstamatic.
of course.

I am no photographer.
(Today Jesse is)

But I like this old exposure look.

A roller of studio shots...

some to use for a project upcoming,

some to just laugh at.

I love the headless arm shots, courtesy of my photographer, Jesse : )

Hope your summer is rolling....

I know I feel like jogging in place

just isn't cutting it anymore.

I am ready to do some real running.

Ever feel that way?
